Kitchener youth crew

Young people want a place to call their own - somewhere they can meet new friends, play sports, games and other activities, and learn from others their age. Our Kitchener Youth Crew members help make this happen.

The Kitchener Youth Crew program gives volunteers, from age 12 to 17 - known as crew members, opportunities to build and share their skills and talents by helping out at youth drop-in programs in their neighbourhoods.

Youth Crew members help drive our youth drop-in program by:

  • Assisting with program set-up and clean-up
  • Leading sports and other activities
  • Helping program participants resolve issues and conflicts
  • Mentoring younger volunteers and program participants

Why should you join?

There are many benefits to being a crew member, including:

  • Earning volunteer hours
  • Meeting people from across the city
  • Building leadership and employment skills
  • Getting a great reference (if you earn it)
  • Using your time and energy to benefit others in your neighbourhood

To become a crew member, simply visit a youth drop-in program near you and talk and talk to our staff about ways you can help.
