Using a Zoom meeting format, only registered participants will be able to access the group, and staff will be hosting and monitoring the waiting room for safety. Camps will include a Get Active Virtual Program for children ages 5 to 7 years old, a Variety Virtual Camp for children ages 7 to 10 years old and a Specialized Creative Kids Virtual Camp for children ages 10 to 12 years old. Camps will begin in January 2021. For more information, please visit the Children and Youth Programs and Services page.

Grand Connections Letter-writing Program

During this period of physical distancing, Kitchener residents are spending more time at home and in some cases, away from friends and family, which is why we have been working hard to create opportunities for seniors and youth in our community to stay connected during these uncertain times. Our virtual Grand Connections program provides youth in our community the opportunity to connect with an older adult to show they care. Youth are encouraged to submit electronic letters, cards, artwork and messages of hope that City staff will share with an older adult in our community during their regular support calls. To ensure the safety of all participants, letters and cards can submitted electronically, through an online form. If you would prefer an alternate method of submission, please call 519-741-2200 ext. 5081 for assistance.
