The Kitchener Fire Chief has enacted a temporary burn ban, including backyard fires and open burn permits, due to current dry conditions, active forest fires and no significant rainfall forecast.
No new permits will be issued or approved until further notice. Anyone found burning may be subject to fines under City by-law and the Ontario Fire Code. The burn ban will be in effect until further notice.
