The City of Kitchener provides high-quality, affordable, community-based recreation programs at 15 community centres across the city. We offer residents a variety of recreation programs for all ages and abilities that promote social, physical, and mental wellbeing. Instructors are the foundation of these programs and play a key role in creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive opportunities for participants.
With so many diverse programs being offered this fall, the City of Kitchener is currently recruiting qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated recreation program leaders and fitness instructors to run programs at the community centres starting in September.
Current recreation program/fitness instructor (competition 2023-353) job pool opportunities for the fall 2023 program session, include:
- Activity Class Monitor (drop-in pickleball, badminton)
- Art Instructor (drawing, painting, pottery)
- Dance Instructor (line dancing, ballroom)
- Music Instructor (piano, guitar)
- Special Interest Instructor (technology, cooking)
- Sport Instructor (basketball, dodgeball, floor hockey)
- Fitness Instructor (weights/core, Zumba or cardio/music)
- Meditation Instructor
- Tai chi Instructor
- Yoga Instructor (gentle, Hatha, yoga pilates)
We are also looking for creative, energetic young leaders to help us to offer fun and active after-school and weekend programs to children between the ages of 4-13 and youth ages 10-17.
