To help us form the City of Kitchener’s Strategic Plan for 2023-2026, we went to great lengths to learn about your priorities for our city. Thirty-six volunteers from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences formed the Plan WITH Us Resident Panel. They learned about important issues, discussed and influenced a draft plan that we hope to share for public feedback shortly and then take to council in June.
In their own words:
“It’s exciting to come together with such a diverse group from across the city to see what we can come up with! I’ve already met many people on the panel who I wouldn’t likely have interacted with otherwise. It’s cool to connect with the broader Kitchener community in this way! These are some complex topics that we’ll be looking at, and I’ve already heard some ideas and perspectives I would never have considered before.”

“I was greatly encouraged to see the passion and care for this city shared among other residents and city staff. I am excited to plan a future for the city of Kitchener where we all can thrive.”
- Charisa Gerow
“This is not an easy process for the panel when it comes to the tasks that we have, but what I have seen so far from the city team and the enthusiasm that my fellow panellists have shown is very inspiring. We are a group of individuals that have a passion for the city and want to see it grow in a sustainable and inclusive way for everyone that lives, visits and works in Kitchener.”
