Do you know a senior who has made a difference in the community? Someone who has given back by donating their time and energy to improving Kitchener or the lives of the people in it? It’s time to recognize them with Kitchener’s Senior of the Year Award!

We’re highlighting and celebrating the seniors who represent the best Kitchener has to offer, and we need your nominations to do it! The Senior of the Year Award gives us the opportunity to honour outstanding citizens over the age of 65 who enriches the social, cultural or civic life of their community. You can find more criteria below.

Nominees must:

  • be 65 years of age or older
  • be a current resident of Kitchener
  • not be a current member of the Mayor's Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS)
  • be an individual (you cannot nominate couples or groups)
  • give permission to be nominated and agree to submission information

Nominations will be reviewed by a selection panel made up of members of Kitchener City Council, Mayor's Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors volunteers and City staff.

All nominees will be recognized during seniors month in June. All nominees and nominators will receive regular updates from staff about recognition details as they become available.

Nominations close on Thursday, Mar. 31, 2022.
