While local kids get a bit of a break from school this March Break, the City of Kitchener is happy to provide free and affordable options for fun and activities.

Teen 3-on-3 basketball tournaments

Teens from 14 to 17 years old can show off their skills in 3-on-3 basketball tournaments and skills competitions from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18. Start times vary by location, with a different community centre hosting each evening. Entry is free, with registration for teams or individuals at the door and prizes to be won. March break at the Kitchener Market

Everyone is invited to join the family fun at the Kitchener Market from Tuesday, March 15 to Friday, March 18. Downtown Night Market

The With + Wellness Spring Equinox Night Market on Friday, March 18 is an evening of witchy vendors, food, drinks, and entertainment. Join the fun on Gaukel St. from 4 to 9 p.m.

You can also try out the synthetic ice surface at 44 Gaukel from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily. It’s free to use through a partnership with Kitchener Utilities.

Book free space at a community centre

Create and practice your family safety plan

March Break also means that more kids and teens may be home alone. The Kitchener Fire Department wants to make sure everyone stays safe and knows what to do in an emergency.
