The City of Kitchener is celebrating Bike Month this June with three events promoting cycling and fostering stronger bonds among family and friends.

Bike Festivities

Join us on Saturday, June 11, between 1-4:30 p.m. at Gaukel Street for a fun and safe cycling event for racialized communities. Experience the joys of cycling with support from staff and volunteers. Hosted by the City of Kitchener, Rohingya Centre of Canada, Ethiopian Association of KW, Association of Liberian Immigrants in Kitchener Environs, African Family Revival Organization, Kind Minds Family Wellness, City of Kitchener, Cycling into the Future, and Red Raccoon Bike Rescue. This event will provide free training to improve your cycling skills, bike tune-ups, refreshments, live performance, prizes and more. All are welcome.

Family Bike Show

Do you have a cool cargo bike, a long-tail bike, an e-bike, or any other type of bike you want the community to admire?

Join us along Gaukel Street on Sunday, June 12, between 2 - 4.30 p.m. Showcase your unique bikes at a classic car show-style event - for bikes of all kinds! Participants can bring their cargo bikes, long-tail bikes, e-bikes, or bike trailers and share their tips for getting around by bike.  After the show, join us for a 5 km group bike ride. To register to have your bike in the show, visit www.bikekitchener.ca.

Together in Pride Ride

June is Pride Month, and the City of Kitchener is partnering with Spectrum and KW Counselling Services to host a 2SLGBTQ+ community bike ride on Friday, June 17, between 7-9 p.m. Participants will meet at the KW Counselling Services parking lot (480 Charles Street East, Kitchener) and head out on a 7 km casual ride.
