With current Provincial restrictions limiting gathering sizes and in the interest of community safety, the City has reimagined Neighbours Day, transitioning the event online. In consultation with staff and community participants, registered host your own activities will not proceed as planned. Instead, the City is challenging residents to safely explore their neighbourhoods through an online photo sharing contest for a chance to win great prizes!

How to participate

On Saturday, Sept. 26, residents are invited to participate in an online game of tic-tac-toe, with the goal of sharing photos of the most celebrated parts of their neighbourhood.

To participate, residents can:

1. Download the tic-tac-toe card either on our website or on social media.

2. Take photos for as many squares on the card as possible and challenge their neighbours.

3. Share their photos on social media, by tagging the City of Kitchener and using the hashtag #NeighboursDay

4. Once this challenge has been completed, they can submit their name online to enter a draw for a chance to win a gift card.

The online contest closes on Sept. 26 at midnight and winners will be selected on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
