Do you know an outstanding Kitchener senior who enriches everyday life in our community? Nominate them for this year’s Senior of the Year Award. Nominations are being accepted now and will be open until Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2021.

Each year, the City of Kitchener is proud to celebrate the remarkable community contributions of Kitchener seniors through the Senior of the Year Award. The Senior of the Year Award gives each municipality in Ontario the opportunity to honour one outstanding citizen over the age of 65 who has enriched the social, cultural, or civic life of their community.

To be eligible for the recognition a nominee: 

  • must be 65 years of age or older and a current resident of Kitchener
  • made volunteer contributions to better the Kitchener community
  • has not been a previous recipient of this award and is not a current member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS)
  • must give permission to be nominated and verify that the information being submitted is accurate

Only individuals can be nominated for this recognition. Couples or groups are not eligible.

Nominations can be submitted online. Paper copies are also being accepted by mail.
