Effective tomorrow, March 1, 2022, the Province of Ontario will take additional steps to ease public health measures.
This includes lifting capacity limits in all remaining indoor public settings as well as the lifting of proof of vaccination requirements for all settings.
Businesses and other settings may choose to continue to require proof of vaccination. Masking requirements will remain in place at this time.
“It’s because of the sacrifices that we’ve made together that we are gradually able to resume activities,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health. “Thank you to the residents of Waterloo Region who have continued to support their families and neighbours to get us to a positive place where we can ease COVID-19 restrictions.”
Residents are encouraged to continue following public health measures and get vaccinated to protect themselves. Get a vaccine at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/GetAVaccine
For more information on the next phase of reopening, please see the Province of Ontario website.
Municipalities across Waterloo Region will continue to provide information on the easing of public health measures.
