Doon Pioneer Park


Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre, located at 150 Pioneer Dr., in the southwest corner of our city, offers a wide variety of programs and activities to suit the ages and interests of the surrounding community.  During the construction phase ALL programs are held at area schools and churches.

The centre is close to the 401 and public transit; visit Grand River Transit for route information and schedules.

Important news

Centre expansion

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback about our expansion through our online survey. The survey is now closed; staff will now review and analyze the survey results. Based on those results, draft recommendations will be made and shared with the public. To learn more about the expansion, visit our project webpage.

New skatepark design & construction

Upper Canada Park skatepark will be built at the corner of Pioneer Drive and Homer Watson Boulevard. To learn more about opportunities to get involved, visit our project webpage.

Program registration

You can now register online for our neighbourhood programs, as well as in person at your nearest community centre.

To register online, you will need:

  • To create an ACTIVE Net account.
  • A Visa or MasterCard credit card with a valid expiry date
  • A copy of our newsletter or Active Kitchener; this is not essential, but helpful

Dates to remember

  • Spring program registration, online or in person begins Feb. 27.
  • Neighbourhood Camps registration, online or in person begins March 1.
  • Last day of programs at the DPPCC is Saturday, March 3. Anticipated reopening of the community centre is in the fall of 2019. KPL remains open during our closure.


Doon Pioneer Park Community Association programming

Weather cancellations  If local schools are closed because of weather conditions, all DPPCA programs are automatically cancelled. Please call 519-741-2641 when in doubt. Be advised that make-up classes will be arranged if possible but refunds will not be given
