Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre (DPPCC), located at 150 Pioneer Dr., in the southwest corner of our city, offers a wide variety of programs and activities to suit the ages and interests of the surrounding community. During the construction phase ALL Doon Pioneer Park Community Association (DPPCA) programs are held at area schools, churches and Doon Village Retirement Residence.

On behalf of the Staff & DPPCA volunteers, we thank you for your patience and understanding during the transition time.

For a listing of DPPCA programs, please visit the Community Association's website to access their current newsletter or you can also follow them on Facebook.  Please note that the DPPCA is making changes to the delivery of the newsletter.  Beginning this fall, they are no longer being delivered to homes and they are in the process of looking for other ways and means to distribute them.  For now, you can find them at the Pioneer Park Library, the Centre when it reopens, and as listed above the website and Facebook pages.  Active Kitchener will still be deilvered to area homes and these programs will be advertised in this City of Kitchener publication.

For a list of programs and special events including other Neighbourhood Associations and Aquatics, please view Active Kitchener.

To register for programs, please access ACTIVE Net. Please be sure to read and select the check box for your new paperless waiver when registering.

If this is your first time registering, please go to the Program Registration and Assistance page for guidance.

Neighbour Association Refund Policy - please note the new policy effective September 2018.

Weather cancellations - If local schools are closed because of weather conditions, all DPPCA programs are automatically cancelled. Please listen to 570 Extreme Weather Centre when in doubt. Be advised that make-up classes will be arranged if possible but refunds will not be given.

Due to the centre's construction closure, there are no events planned at this time. Check out other opportunities below...

The Cycling and Trails Master Plan

Engage Kitchener Survey:

We want to understand how, when and why you walk, run or roll through Kitchener, and what may discourage you from doing so more often. Complete our short Cycling and Trails Survey to let us know, and suggest destinations that should be a priority by completing our Important Destinations interactive map activity. Both the survey and the map activity will close on June 30, 2019.

Exciting changes in Doon! Long-time residents and newcomers to the neighbourhood recognize the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre as the heart of this community. The Doon community is a thriving neighbourhood along the southern edge of Kitchener that is expected to grow even more in the coming years. The centre is a neighbourhood hub that brings friends and neighbours together over a game of pickleball, in fitness classes, through special events, programs and other activities hosted by the neighbourhood association or at the Doon branch of the Kitchener Public Library.

The community centre will undergo significant renovations so that it can continue to deliver programs and services to this growing community. Residents can look forward to a large program room, a new gymnasium, additional meeting space, new washroom facilities, spacious lobby and seating area and a new splash pad!
