Community centres will close Dec. 26

Some community centres will remain open for emergency social services such as food distribution, warming centres, addiction support and public access computers.

The Province has announced a provincewide shutdown beginning on Saturday, Dec. 26 at 12:01 a.m. Please only leave your home for essential trips, only gather with those in your household and stay connected with friends and family virtually. Read more.

Chandler Mowat is now open for Public Access Computers from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Chandler Mowat Community Centre (CMCC), located at 222 Chandler Dr., has been serving the surrounding community since 1994. The centre is fully accessible and within walking distance of public transit; check out Grand River Transit for schedule and location information.

Featuring a full-size gymnasium with four program rooms and a fully licensed kitchen, the centre is equipped to offer a range of programs and activities, as well as host meetings and special events.

Registration is required for all programs, including drop-in programs.

You can now register online for our programs, as well as in person at the centre.

To register online, you will need:

  • To create an ACTIVE Net account.
  • A Visa or MasterCard credit card with a valid expiry date.

Visitors are asked to come prepared to participate in scheduled programming as access to changerooms will be unavailable.
  • Pre-screening questions: Visitors will be required to successfully complete a series of health screening questions prior to entry.
  • Masks and face coverings: Visitors are required to wear masks upon entry and while in common areas such as lobbies, hallways or washrooms.
  • Physical distancing: Visitors are always required to maintain a physical distance of at least 2-meters from other patrons.

Residents are asked to come prepared to participate in scheduled programming as access to washrooms and changerooms will be unavailable.
