Positions have varying responsibilities, start dates and start and end times.

Every summer, we hire more than 175 dynamic, well-rounded staff members to help run our neighbourhood camps, aquatic camps, market camp and youth drop-in programs.  You'll meet new people, learn new skills, develop your leadership abilities and - most of all - you'll have fun.

Our summer children's camps and youth programs are very popular each year because our summer staff are fantastic. Focusing on delivering quality recreation and social development summer programs, our summer staff come to work - and play - each and every day, offering young participants fun, memory-making experiences, as well as caring, positive role models.

How to apply

If you find a job you're interested in applying for, you must:

1. Review our conditions of employment before applying to ensure you are eligible.

2. Register a profile with us.

  • You will need an email, password and a resume (and cover letter) to upload (Word document is best).
  • Please name uploaded documents with your last name, then first name and the job you are applying for.

3. Once you register a profile, you can apply to each position you are interested in.

  • You must submit a separate application for each position you are interested in. Applying includes uploading a separate cover letter and resume for each position.
  • Note: Only one entry level 'Camp Leader' application is required, even if you're interested in applying to work at several camps. Our single online application asks you to indicate your preferred camps.

Camp leader information

You only have to apply once for any camp leader role at:

  • Breithaupt Centre camps,
  • Cameron Heights pool camps
  • Grand River Recreation Complex camps,
  • Kiwanis Park camp
  • Neighbourhood camps, or
  • Specialty camps

Applying is easy; simply go online, create a profile, and choose the 'Camp Leader -all programs' position. You will be given the opportunity to either indicate your preferred camp location, or rank your location preferences.
