Snow Event - extended to noon on Thursday, Feb. 14

A Snow Event is in effect as of 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.The Snow Event is currently in effect until noon on Thursday, Feb. 14. Please ensure all vehicles are removed from the streets or risk being ticketed and/or towed. Read the media release for more details. 

Blowing snow advisory

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected in some locations today. Lake effect snow east of Lake Huron is expected today. Strong westerly winds gusting to 60 or 70 km/h will result in widespread blowing snow throughout the day. Total snowfall accumulations near 5 cm are also possible.

How to stay safe:

  • Learn what to do if you experience a power outage
  • If you're using a generator as an alternative power source, make sure you follow these safety precautions
  • Build an emergency kit and have an emergency plan
  • Stay clear of fallen tree limbs and power lines
  • Avoid unnecessary travel
  • Drive according to road conditions
  • Call 9-1-1 if you or someone you know is hurt
  • Clear your sidewalks, driveway and stairs of snow and ice
  • During heavy winds, stay safe indoors and ensure loose objects outdoors are secured
