Suburbs

City of Kitchener inclusion services provides accommodations for people with disabilities who want to participate in our recreation programs.  We have a variety of programs for individuals of all ages and interests. To request accommodation for any City of Kitchener program please request support.

How to register

Register online through ACTIVE Net; in person, at a local community centre or indoor swimming pool or by phone at 519-741-2907 (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Specialized programs

Dancing with Disabilities *NEW*

Canada's first dance program tailored to meet the physical and cognitive challenges of MS, Parkinson's, cerebral palsy, stroke, TBI, an other movement disorders. This scientifically based program uses music and dance to stimulate the body/brain connection, creating greater balance, coordination, and fluidity of movement.

Wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, or your own two feet, everyone is welcome. No experience necessary. Trained volunteers in every class. Funding may be available for those on disability pensions. View session dates and register on ACTIVE Net.

Program Times: Wednesdays 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

It's All About YOUth camp

Campers will participate in a variety of activities, including bowling, swimming, sports, crafts, guest speakers and off site trips. This camp is designed with the interests of the participants in mind. View session dates and register on ACTIVE Net.

Ages: 13 to 17

Program times: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Dates:  Week 1: Aug. 13-17 (barcode: 19920)

Cost: $142.53/week
Location: Stanley Park Community Centre, 505 Franklin St N, Kitchener

Golf clinic - three weeks

The golf clinic is a three week program starting in June. Time will be spent on the putting & driving range, pitch & putt course, and you will play a couple holes on the full course. View session dates and register on ACTIVE Net.

Ages: 5+

Location: Doon Valley Golf Course, 500 Doon Valley Drive, Kitchener

Golf league - 12 weeks

The full season golf program is a 12 week class. The first three weeks are spent on putting and the driving range and the pitch and putt course. Golfers will play a few holes on the full course. View session dates and register on ACTIVE Net.

Ages: 5+

Program times: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
