Pesticide use

While use of cosmetic pesticides is banned in Ontario, you have plenty of other environmentally friendly options to keep your lawns and gardens looking beautiful this summer.

The Gardener's Handbook provides useful tips on growing vegetables, fruit, ornamental plants and lawns using non-chemical products. The guide covers a range of topics, including recommended planting times, descriptions of common garden pests - and how to prevent and manage them.

To learn more about your options, visit the Ministry of the Environment.
