Park development


Every year Kitchener dedicates resources to developing new, or updating existing, parks, trails and natural areas. The following is a list of Kitchener's current development projects:

Admiral Park

Neighbourhood park sports court rehabilitation, including resurfacing and access improvements.

Eden Oak Park

A new neighbourhood park proposed for 1.75 hectares within the Grand River South community along Eden Oak Trial.

Hidden Valley Crescent Neighbourhood Park

Neighbourhood park improvements are proposed for the existing 1.46 hectares of open space.

Lakeside Park

Development of an environmental management and park improvement plan for Lakeside Park.  

Oscar Lauber Park

New neighbourhood park playground installation.

Resurrection Park

Neighbourhood park playground replacement, including accessible pathway connection.

RBJ Schlegel Park

A new district park facility is proposed for 17 hectares near Fischer Hallman and Huron Road.

Traynor Park

Neighbourhood park playground replacement, including accessible pathway connection, and park rehabilitation.

Uniroyal-Goodrich Park

Park rehabilitation project including improvements and possible changes to park features.

Upper Canada Park

Realignment and improvements of five existing ball diamonds and various community park amenities.

Participatory budgeting A pilot project for Elmsdale Park and Sandhills Park, where neighbourhood residents decide how to spend the budget to put the spark back in their park.
