Kitchener in Bloom

Suburbs

Through the Kitchener in Bloom (KIB) program, residents who go above and beyond to ‘pretty our city’ may have their public-facing gardens recognized. Each year the City of Kitchener encourages residents and business owners to take pride in, and contribute to the city’s visual appeal, by beautifying their properties through gardening.

 The Program

The KIB program celebrates the efforts of Kitchener citizens and business owners who help to make the city look beautiful. The goal is to:

  • recognize all varieties of public-facing gardens,

  • celebrate gardeners, and

  • foster community through gardening.

How to recognize a property

Nominations are now closed for the season. Check back in May for information about the 2019 nomination process.

So, you are out and about and you see a beautiful property – or you work hard yourself to make your own front yard look lovely. How do you recognize a garden for Kitchener in Bloom?

All you have to do is provide the address of the property you wish to recognize! It could be any yard you feel is deserving—our own, your friend’s neighbour’s, or the yard of any other talented gardener in Kitchener. When you are out walking or driving and you see an attractive front yard, send us the address by completing this online recognition form, by email to kitchenerinbloom@kitchener.ca or call 519-741-2200 x. 7224.

The property owner will be sent a package that includes a small Kitchener in Bloom lawn sign for display, and will be invited to participate in upcoming Kitchener in Bloom programming and events.
