Yvonne has lived and raised her family in Kitchener with her husband Manny for the past 30 plus years. After receiving diplomas in Business Administration and as an Educational Assistant at Conestoga College, Yvonne began her career as an educator with the Waterloo Region Separate District School Board. Prior to her election to council, Yvonne worked for 12 years for Laurentian Christian School as a Para Educator with special needs students.

Yvonne has always volunteered with a wide range of community groups, including CradleLink. While working at Laurentian Hills she was also involved with school councils, parent groups and various committees. As a city councillor, Yvonne participated with the City of Kitchener's Youth Forum, making presentations at high schools and reviewing student projects. 

As well as being passionate about educating our young people, Yvonne has a keen interest in the preservation of our environment. Previously, Yvonne sat on the City of Kitchener's Environmental Advisory Committee for 6 years, and is a member of the Grand River Environment Network, and Friends of Hidden Valley.  She continues to advocate for environmental protection when reviewing road expansions like Strasburg Road and developments adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas. 

During her term on council, Yvonne also sat on the Heritage and Huron Natural Area Joint Ventures Committees.
