Frank has lived in Kitchener for over 45 years, enjoying a successful career with The Waterloo Region Record as an award-winning investigative journalist and outspoken columnist. He also worked in a management capacity at the newspaper as assignment and city editor.  Until his retirement six years ago, Frank focused his writing mostly on municipal affairs, affordable housing, poverty, social and neighbourhood issues. In addition, he authored four children's books and a play for high school students that won a national Chalmers theatre award.

Frank, who supports the preservation and protection of heritage buildings as well as city neighbourhoods, has lived in the Victoria Park community for more than 30 years with his wife Sue. He has three adult children and three grandchildren.
