In Office: 2018 - present

Debbie grew up in Kitchener, completing her primary and secondary school education locally and obtained her first university degree at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her academic pursuits culminated in a PhD in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. She proudly lives in Ward 9 where she has raised her family with her husband Peter.

Prior to being elected, Dr. Chapman taught at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Political Science and Global Studies department. She has taught many courses on urban politics and sustainability, and her time as a professor is paired with private sector experience as a senior operations manager at a national wholesaler.

Debbie has been making contributions to Kitchener for years, both as the president of the Cherry Hill neighbourhood Association and as a member of two community advisory committees. This involvement has given Debbie a broad understanding of the diversity of life in Kitchener.

In representing Ward 9 Debbie strives to involve all members of our community in decision making and change.
