A collective effort

RBJ Schlegel Park would not have been made possible without the collective effort of community and government partners.

A $2.3 million investment from RBJ Schlegel, a local company involved in seniors care and urban development, is the largest sponsorship agreement in the City of Kitchener’s history.

This partnership was made possible through the City of Kitchener’s Municipal Partnership Program, an initiative that offers customized sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities for businesses and brands.

RBJ Schlegel Park’s green infrastructure was made possible thanks to a $750,000 investment from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program funded by the Government of Canada.

Future phases

Phase two will bring more amenities, including outdoor courts, an on-site washroom and change facility in a heritage building and additional landscape improvements. These are expected to be constructed in 2021 and ready for use by 2022. Construction of these new amenities will provide minimal disruption to the usability of the current amenities.
