We team up with community groups to present YoungArt. It’s an annual showcase of our talented youth and their artistic creations.

YoungArt 2023
YoungArt is an annual event that showcases some of the community's most talented young artists' artwork in partnership with several partner organizations.
Submit your art
Artists 12 to 18 can submit art to online or in-person.
Online
Submit a photo of your visual art piece to ARTSHINE by emailing manager@artshine.ca. Include this information with your submission:
- your first name
- an artist statement
- title of your visual art piece
The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 5, 2023. The online showcase will premiere on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. on the ARTSHINE YouTube channel.
In-person
Drop off your visual art piece on May 8 or 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at one the following community centres:
- Country Hills Community Centre (100 Rittenhouse Road)
- Centreville Chicopee Community Centre (141 Morgan Avenue)
- Downtown Community Centre (35 Weber Street)
Include this information with your submission:
- your first name
- an artist statement
- title of your visual art piece
Opening night
Join us on Thursday, May 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 44 Gaukel St. (O Gallery) for opening night featuring art, drama, music, and workshops.
Check out the Maker Space workshop to bring out your inner artist! We'll have 3D pens, a sketching area, comic books, anime and more. Get inspired by the exhibition and create your own works of art.
The visual art pieces will be on display until Thursday, May 25. Come out to see the pieces the youth of Waterloo region have been creating!
There will also be a virtual showcase on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. on the ARTSHINE YouTube channel.
