Some facilities closed for Family Day

KITCHENER – Monday, Feb. 20 is Family Day. Some City of Kitchener facilities are open as usual. However, offices at Kitchener City Hall will be closed. Services normally offered by staff will be available again on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 8:30 a.m. The building itself will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., as it does on all holidays and weekends.

City of Kitchener indoor pools are open, but lessons are cancelled. Forest Heights Pool will close for the day at 4 p.m. Check the website  for public and family swims. Regular admission applies.

Kitchener Market is closed, as it always is on Mondays.

Most community centres are open and offering special Family Day events on Monday, with the exception of Downtown, Centreville Chicopee, Mill Courtland, Stanley Park, Victoria Hills and Williamsburg community centres, and Rockway Centre, all of which are closed for the day.

Breithaupt Centre will have modified hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bridgeport Community Centre will be open from 2-4 p.m. for a skating party. Forest Heights Community Centre has modified hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Budd Park will be closed during the day, and open for regular business in the evening.

All Kitchener Public Library locations will be closed.

The Aud is open for rentals but the box office and administration office will be closed on Family Day.

The community arenas are open for rentals. Activa Sportsplex and the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track are open at 7 a.m.

The outdoor rink in Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall is open all day, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
