As you may be aware, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) is currently engaged in province-wide labour negotiations. As a result of ongoing job action by OSSTF, all evening and weekend community use of schools operated by the Waterloo Region District Schoolboard (WRDSB) will be cancelled starting on February 1, 2020 for seven calendar days.

Some City of Kitchener facilities are open as usual on Family Day, however, offices at Kitchener City Hall will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17 for the statutory holiday. Services normally offered by staff will be available again on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 8:30 a.m. The building itself will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as it does on all holidays and weekends.

Cameron Heights Pool is closed and all programming is cancelled for the remainder of the day (Wednesday, Nov. 27) due to a power outage. The pool will reopen for regular programs tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 28) at 4:45 p.m.

KITCHENER – The Royal Canadian Legion Fred Gies Branch 50 will hold their annual Remembrance Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 10:45 a.m. at the Kitchener Cenotaph, located at the corner of Frederick and Duke streets in downtown Kitchener. The Remembrance Day parade will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Ontario Street between King and Duke Streets.
