Kitchener Libraries
The Kitchener Public Library has been serving this community for well over 100 years, since the Berlin Town Council approved a by-law creating a free public library in 1884. In 1975, Kitchener was known as The Library Capital of Canada. 

Over the years the Library has expanded from the Main Library, located at 85 Queen Street North. The Kitchener Public Library system now includes four community libraries:

  • KPL now provides free cards for Regional residents with the same borrowing privileges at Kitchener residents.
