Summer Playgrounds

New Registration Information for District One playground sites

For district one playground sites ONLY, registration is now available over the internet using WEBreg. Rather than registering in June, in person, you may now register beginning February 22 at 9 am either in person or online.

You will need a family Personal Identification Number (PIN) and individual ID code for each child who will be participating in the summer playground course. You may already have a family PIN and individual ID codes if you have registered for City of Kitchener swimming lessons or other programs at the Breithaupt Centre. If you do not already have a PIN, you can use the online PIN application form.

To register online you need a computer with internet access and a credit card. If you do not have a credit card, you may still register online if you choose by putting money on your account in person at Breithaupt Centre, Downtown Community Centre, Lyle Hallman Pool, Cameron Heights Pool, Forest Heights Pool or Rockway Seniors Centre before you register.

You may still register in person at any of the above locations beginning February 22 at 9 am. You still need a PIN, but you may pay by cash, debit or credit card.

Wondering how to make your children's summer vacation positive and rewarding? The City of Kitchener offers a dynamic, affordable opportunity for children to grow through the summer months -- the Kitchener Summer Playground Program.

Kids playingStaff and neighbourhood based volunteer committees work together to deliver a community focused program. The goal is to provide an exciting daytime environment for three to 12 year olds throughout the city.

Each summer approximately 5,000 children attend the summer playground program where they enjoy creative crafts, sports and games while making friends, having fun and enhancing their interpersonal skills. Many children return to this program year after year while new participants join in large numbers each season as well.

With over 60 playground programs operating from neighbourhood parks, schools and community centres, there is bound to be a location near you.
