Leadership and Lifeguarding

Want to Become a Lifeguard?

Our Leadership Ladder will help you determine what courses to take to become a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Our Novice and Elite bundles offered each summer can help you fast-track your way to employment.

The City of Kitchener offers lifeguarding and instructor courses through the Lifesaving Society and Canadian Red Cross. Our schedule of courses throughout 2013 is now available. Register for Leadership and Lifeguarding courses at all City of Kitchener pools or online.

Hiring Information

The City of Kitchener is currently accepting application for Assistant Instructor Guard and Instructor Guard positions. Please fill out an application form and submit it to any City of Kitchener pool along with a resume. Qualified applications may be invited to attend a skills screening and interview.
