In the depths of winter, in that long period of time between New Year's Day and Easter, you need a rest - what better way than with your family! Family Day in Ontario is always the third Monday of February - this year that's Feb. 15.

In Kitchener, we are looking forward to celebrating with your family at our many facilities - in fact - there is so much going on, we're celebrating all weekend!

Xtreme Ice Racing, 7 p.m. at The Aud.

Mill Courtland Community Centre, Winter Fun Fair, 1-4 p.m.

Breithaupt Centre Building hours 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Bridgeport Community Centre, Family Skate and Indoor Activities, 2-4 p.m.

Country Hills Community Centre, Skating Party, 3-7 p.m.

Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre, Movie and Pizza, 5-7 p.m.

Join us for a family movie, Big Hero 6 along with popcorn and a slice of pizza. Bring your blanket if you want to cuddle up and enjoy the show. VPNA - Winter Skating Party  in Victoria Park near the Clock tower - 1-3 p.m.

Central Frederick Neighbourhood Association and King East Neighbourhood Association will celebrate on Sunday, Feb. 28 with a Winter Fun Event at Weber Park. Call 519-741-2501 for more information.

Forest Heights Community Centre, Fun for all Ages, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Walk over together as a family, offer a neighbour a ride to the centre, or come on your own and meet our community centre family!  A variety of activities will be available for different age groups including storytelling times, music workshops, youth gym time, outdoor skating and an adult card tournament.  Grab a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and a bag of popcorn.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
