Some city facilities close for Easter holiday

KITCHENER – A number of city facilities have modified hours over the Easter weekend. Offices at Kitchener City Hall will be closed on Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17, for the Easter holidays. Services normally offered by staff will be available again on Tuesday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m. The building itself will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as it does on all holidays and weekends.


The Kitchener market will be closed on Friday, April 14, Sunday, April 16, and Monday, April 17, as it is always closed on Mondays. It will be open on Saturday, April 15.


All Kitchener Public Library locations are closed on Friday, April 14; Sunday, April 16, and Monday, April 17, re-opening on Tuesday, April 18.


All aquatic facilities are closed Friday, Sunday and Monday, but are open for regular hours on Saturday, April 15.


All community centres are closed Friday and Monday, except Stanley Park, which is only closed on Friday. Bridgeport, Centreville-Chicopee, Kingsdale, Mill Courtland, Victoria Hills and Williamsburg centres are closed all weekend, Friday through Monday.

All other centres are closed Friday, Sunday (except for rentals) and Monday, and open on Saturday, April 15. Country Hills is open in the evening on Monday from 5-9 p.m. for scheduled programming.


The community arenas are all open for scheduled rentals throughout the long weekend. The Aud is open for scheduled rentals and special events; however, the administration office is closed both days.

Activa Sportsplex and the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track are open Friday, April 14, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Easter Monday, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.


The box office at The Aud is closed both Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17 (unless otherwise stated).


Budd Park will be closed Friday, April 14 through Monday, April 17 for the Easter holiday weekend.
