Leisure Facilities Master Plan
Last year, Kitchener City Council initiated the development of a leisure facilities master plan, which will set the direction of our City leisure facilities for the next 15 years. The last time the City conducted such a major study of its leisure facilities was in 1991.

Because of the City’s continuing growth and increasing diversity, Council felt it was time to review its facilities with the vision of enriching the quality of life for Kitchener residents. The key outcome of the master plan is to offer residents leisure facilities and services that meet their needs and interests.

After extensive research, surveying, review of demographics and other data, and consultation with user groups and the public, a plan has been developed. Council received the plan, and asked Community Services staff to review the recommendations and develop an implementation plan.
