Urban Design Manual
Design Brief for Suburban Development
The City of Kitchener's Urban Design Manual is
a comprehensive document intended to foster a high quality of urban design
on a city-wide basis. It is a unique work that combines urban design guidelines
and urban design standards into one document. It also contains a separate
section for design briefs, intended to provide detailed design suggestions
and requirements for a specific site or type of land use.
City of Kitchener
Council Approved Part A (Urban Design Guidelines) and Part B (Urban Design
Briefs) on December 13, 1999. The manual is intended for use by a range
of groups, including the development industry, City Council and staff,
special interest groups and residents.
