The Development and Technical Services Department ensures a high quality built urban environment, that is efficient, safe, livable, prosperous and vibrant through proactive urban planning, growth management, quality road and sewer infrastructure, economic development and timely development approvals; while providing building and property protection, life safety, fire prevention and suppression, and life support services.

Headed by the General Manager, the Development & Technical Services Department is comprised of four sections: Planning, Building, Engineering Services and Fire Services.
