What's Happening – Active Permits

The building permit information is updated on the internet on a daily basis from AMANDA and is published through the Onpoint GIS system. Current building permits are labeled on the map by permit number and the associated properties are shown in pink. Clicking on the property will provide details about the permit.

To access this information, click on the OnPoint Mapping link to begin your interactive mapping session, zoom to your location of interest, and click on the "What's Happening" tab. Once you are zoomed in close enough (1:4000), the current building permit numbers will appear in red. Activate the info tool ("i" on right side of window) and click on the property to see the building permit information under Building Permits-Current. If more than one current building permit exists on the property, you can see it by scrolling down in the pop-up window.

Information about completed work orders are available as far back as 1986 by changing the layer to Building Permits-Historic in the map contents and on the pop-up window.

In future, Kitchener's web site will also provide standard building permit reports directly to the public.
