The Department’s work is largely focused on providing support to internal corporate customer Divisions and to Council, ensuring that the City's operations are carried out in a manner consistent with federal and provincial legislation, as well as municipal by-laws. Some aspects of providing service directly to the public can be found in areas such as the Legislated Services Division and in the By-Law Enforcement Division, whose goal is to enforce the corporation’s by-laws to ensure a safe and orderly environment throughout the City.
