CulturePlan II

The citizens of Kitchener are proud of the City’s tradition for unique, evolving culture. A long history of immigration and innovation has produced a community identity rich in cultural diversity and the arts. CulturePlan II (2005), our community-owned map for building the future of our City, was the result of hundreds of volunteer hours of community-directed input during an eighteen month period.

• Building on the legacies of CulturePlan I (1996), CulturePlan II identifies the activities and investment required for cultural development to the year 2010.

• The Plan champions the benefits of investing in our unique cultural assets to achieve community-wide prosperity and revitalization, quality of life, and city identity.

• The Plan presents a multi-partner approach to implementation.

• As a living document, CulturePlan II will continually evolve to meet the needs of our citizens.
