Community Services The Community Services Department provides a vast array of customer focused, community oriented programs and services to the residents of the City. The department, through its sport, leisure, recreation, community development and arts & culture programs promotes the safety, health, and well being of residents; and through its environmental management, beautification and maintenance programs it promotes a healthy, accessible and enjoyable natural and built environment.
Headed by the General Manager, the Community Services Department is comprised of five divisions: Administration, Community Programs & Services, Aquatics & Athletics, Enterprise, and Operations.

senior centres and in other community spaces

participation in courses and community programs
facilities
such as swimming pools, arenas and recreational play areas

for public trees and park land including environmental, ecological

of all parks, sportsfields, playgrounds and green space

opportunities for people of all ages who wish to enrich their community
cemetery
services provided at six cemetery properties and the Williamsburg
Crematorium

snow removal and other winter maintenance

street garbage, litter and garbage

manufacturing and maintenance of traffic
and construction signs
The Department also delivers and supports a variety of leisure and arts & culture activities and special events. We also provide advice, support and funding to many of our community partners including neighbourhood associations, sports groups, volunteer associations, social service agencies and the community at large.
Patrons can register for City of Kitchener programs by using one of the following methods - mail-in, fax, in person, or online (WEBreg). WEBreg can be done from the convenience of your own home or office. Prior to using WEBreg you first must have a family PIN and individual ID code.
