This auction site has no ability to accept "reserve" or "proxy" bids. The price that you submit is your actual bid and represents what you are currently willing to pay for the item(s) (in Canadian funds).
In the event of human error, power or internet problems with this site, the auction will be restarted from the beginning.
You must first register to participate on this auction site by selecting "New Registration" from the available menu options.
Enter the required information (handle/alias, email address and contact information) and then select "Register Me".
Your password will be forwarded to the e-mail address that you have provided.
Once you have registered and received your password, you can proceed to bid on item(s).
Select one of the auction categories listed, then select an item within that category to obtain additional descriptive information and pictures. On this screen you can then proceed to place your bid by entering your required information (handle/alias, password, bid price) in the appropriate fields and selecting "Place Bid".
All bid amounts are including all taxes and must be in Canadian funds. Items being sold by The City of Guelph do not include the tax and are subject to the GST.
The page will then reload displaying the Bid History, including your bid.
If you are outbid on an item, you will receive e-mail notification to the address you provided, thus allowing you the opportunity to place a revised bid.
The selling agency will not be held responsible for any email notifications not received by the bidder. It is your responsibility to check the auction site for any updated bidding activity.
If you are the highest successful bidder upon closing of the auction, you will be notified via e-mail.
Within five (5) business days, the selling agency will provide you, by e-mail, with the contact information necessary for you to make arrangements for a suitable time for the pick-up and payment of your item.
Pick-up and removal of any item(s) is the sole responsibility of the successful bidder. Normal business hours for pick-up are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
Arrangements for payment and removal of your item(s) must be made within one (1) week after you have been provided with the contact information. Failing that, the selling agency reserves the right to offer the item to the next highest bidder or re-post (see “Conditions of Sale” for payment options).
When placing a bid, you are entering into a contract between you and the seller. Once you place a bid, you may not retract it. Buyers automatically enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the selling agency if they win the online auction. If you do not want to pay for an item, do not bid.
Item(s) will be sold on an "AS IS, WHERE IS" basis, without warranty. The selling agency will not assume any liability, including costs to repair item(s) sold.
Costs to repair any damage to the selling agency's property caused by the removal of the item(s) will be charged to the purchaser.
The selling agency will accept cash only for items being sold for less than $200. If an item(s) is sold for more than $200., the selling agency will accept cash, certified cheque or money order as payment. Certified cheques are to be made payable to the appropriate selling agency (The Corporation of the City of Kitchener, The Corporation of the City of Waterloo, The Corporation of the City of Guelph, The Regional Municipality of Waterloo or The Waterloo Catholic District School Board).
If required, the selling agency, in its’ sole discretion, reserves the right to withdraw item(s) from the auction at any time.
Item(s) may have a reserve bid. If the reserve bid is not met, the selling agency reserves the right to withdraw the offer to sell.
