Through its annual Awards Program, the City recognizes residents of all ages for their outstanding voluntary contributions to civic excellence in a wide variety of areas. Whether it’s highlighting the contributions of seniors; promoting a positive image of youth; paying tribute to property owners who have contributed to the preservation of the city’s heritage resources; or acknowledging those who have created buildings that enhance our everyday lives, the City of Kitchener’s extensive awards programming ensures that outstanding citizens receive their due.

Helping Our City Thrive The City of Kitchener also administers a comprehensive annual Grants Program that provides selected individual citizens and groups with funding for projects and events. Funds for assisting organizations in handling the operating costs for municipally-related programming; for starting a community garden; for enhancing a neighbourhood park; and even one-time offers to help out minor sports teams with travel expenses are just some of the items which could be eligible for grant funding.
